Also required by all staff working within the childcare industry requiring Anaphylaxis training.<\/p>\n<h3>Entry requirements:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>As a minimum, entrants to the course must have literacy and numeracy competencies equivalent to the Australian Core Skills Framework Level 3.\u00a0<em>An example of an ACSF Level 3 competency is being able to read and comprehend the ASCIA Action Plan for Anaphylaxis, use and respond to communication techniques to request appropriate emergency assistance at the scene of a First Aid incident and use writing skills to complete incident reports.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Course registration requires a student to provide their unique student identifier number (USI). If you do not have one or cannot find it go to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usi.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.usi.gov.au<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Pre-course study:<\/h3>\n<p>Blended Delivery mode:\u00a0 1 hour online pre-course work prior to attending the 1 hour face to face session<br \/>\nFace to face workplace training: no pre learning<\/p>\n<p>*The system recognizes prior learning completed with F.A.S.T. Training Australia, allowing you to skip certain videos. However, we recommend setting aside the full 3-4 hours for pre-course study to give yourself time to watch any videos you choose.<\/p>\n<h3>Online study:<\/h3>\n<p>Students must have access to a computer, tablet or other electronic devices with access to the internet to complete the online\/ pre-course studies. The online learning component must be completed prior to the practical assessment.<\/p>\n<h3>\u200bAssessment requirements:<\/h3>\n<p>Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Practical demonstrations<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Administer asthma medication (with a spacer)<\/li>\n<li>Administer asthma medication (without a spacer)<\/li>\n<li>Administer an adrenaline autoinjector for anaphylaxis<\/li>\n<li>Provide first aid for an allergic reaction and anaphylaxis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Documentation<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete a First aid\/Incident report form<\/li>\n<li>Complete a Risk Assessment<\/li>\n<li>Complete an Individual Management Plan, which includes a Communication Plan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Theory assessment:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A written exam consisting of multiple choice and short answer questions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\u200bOutcome:<\/h3>\n<p>Students will receive a nationally accredited certificate as statement of attainment for the units of competency achieved.<\/p>\n<p>The following units will be included in your certificate:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>22556VIC &#8211;\u00a0 Course in the Management of Asthma Risks and Emergencies in the Workplace<\/li>\n<li>22578VIC &#8211; Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Certificates:<\/h3>\n<p>Certificate usually issued same day (online learning must be completed)<\/p>\n<h3>Renewal:<\/h3>\n<p>Certificates will require renewal after 36 months.<br \/>\nTraining delivered by F.A.S.T.
