This course set applies to all workers or members of the community who may be required to provide first aid in the event of an asthma and/or anaphylaxis emergency in a community and/or workplace setting.

Online learning and short practical face to face assessment which covers Asthma and Anaphylaxis.
Blended Delivery keeps courses short and to the point saving you time. “No boring stories – guaranteed!”

Duration:

Course Set – 22556VIC (Asthma) & 22578VIC (Anaphylaxis)

This Asthma and Anaphylaxis Course set will teach you to confidently manage first aid in the event of an asthma and/or anaphylaxis emergency in a community and/or workplace setting.

​Recommended for:

Parents, grandparents, family and anyone looking after children. Also required by all staff working within the childcare industry requiring Anaphylaxis training.

Entry requirements:

  • As a minimum, entrants to the course must have literacy and numeracy competencies equivalent to the Australian Core Skills Framework Level 3. An example of an ACSF Level 3 competency is being able to read and comprehend the ASCIA Action Plan for Anaphylaxis, use and respond to communication techniques to request appropriate emergency assistance at the scene of a First Aid incident and use writing skills to complete incident reports.
  • Course registration requires a student to provide their unique student identifier number (USI). If you do not have one or cannot find it go to www.usi.gov.au

Pre-course study:

Blended Delivery mode:  1 hour online pre-course work prior to attending the 1 hour face to face session
Face to face workplace training: no pre learning

*The system recognizes prior learning completed with F.A.S.T. Training Australia, allowing you to skip certain videos. However, we recommend setting aside the full 3-4 hours for pre-course study to give yourself time to watch any videos you choose.

Online study:

Students must have access to a computer, tablet or other electronic devices with access to the internet to complete the online/ pre-course studies. The online learning component must be completed prior to the practical assessment.

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.

  • Administer asthma medication (with a spacer)
